The sorting line for municipal waste

This sorting line has been designed for a processing capacity of 700 tonnes per year

The line operator loads the waste either manually or with the help of s small manipulator into reception part of the approach conveyor, the belt of which is embedded 250 mm below the floor level. The waste is conveyed to the sorting conveyor through an inclined conveyor. Next to the inclined conveyor, there is a small platform where it is possible to manually remove the foils and throw them into the containers.

The sorting conveyor is located in an air-conditioned cabin where the line operator manually sorts the waste into marked chutes. There are integrated perforators in 5 chutes which pierce closed packages (PET bottles, HDPE). The waste is sorted into:small mixed foils, HDPE, PET clear, PET blue, PET green, PET mix, TETRA PACK.

The residual waste goes to the end of a sorting conveyor where it falls onto a vertical conveyor which is leading to a container. Under the sorting platform, there are 7 discharge conveyors with slide gates and a waste bin. After these bins are filled, the operator opens the sliding door of the selected bin using a hoist and the discharge conveyor pours the waste out to a gathering conveyor which conveys the waste to a continuous press with an automatic binding (the stressed surfaces are made of steel Hardox, hydraulic drive).
